Hattiesburg man pleads guilty to manslaughter

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)- A Hattiesburg man plead guilty to the 2009 death of his friend Monday.

Zachary Dougherty, 22, admitted to stabbing 46-year-old Tony Lee Ducksworth of Taylorsville. The stabling occurred December 2009 at Boardwalk Apartments in Hattiesburg.

Dougherty entered a guilty plea to manslaughter Monday in Forrest County Circuit Court.

He was sentenced to five years to serve in prison and three years of post release supervision.

The judge also ordered Dougherty to complete a long term alcohol and drug treatment program.
