"Hubfest" brings thousands to downtown

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Thousands of South Mississippians gathered in downtown Hattiesburg Saturday for an annual event focusing on food, family and fun. The 27th annual "Hubfest" featured various types of live music on 4 separate stages.

More than 250 vendors, some from as far away as the midwest, were on hand to sell food, arts and crafts and other wares.

"It introduces people to downtown hattiesburg," said Chad Newell, president of the Area Development Partnership.

"It's such a wonderful thing for the city," said Hattiesburg resident Merrian Haynes.

The festival also featured a juried arts section and a children's art show.
