Hattiesburg man arrested after firing shots at ex-girlfriend

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Police have arrested a 23-year-old man in Hattiesburg for allegedly firing gunshots at his ex-girlfriend. 

Officers say Davis Wayne Kyles was charged with one count of domestic aggravated assault and one count of aggravated assault Saturday night after they say he fired several shots at the car she was riding in. 

The incident happened on Hardy Street, near the front entrance to the University of Southern Mississippi.  

Police arrested Kyles a short time after the incident. 

Officers say a weapon was confiscated. 

They say the ex-girlfriend was not injured.

    The new Miss Hospitality has been crowned in Hattiesburg.  She is Emma Grace McGrew, 18, of Booneville.
