Womanless beauty pageant raises funds for charity

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Hattiesburg Police officers and firefighters were counting on the luck of the Irish and the right hair and make-up to raise money for a worthy cause Thursday night.

Some brave policemen and firemen traded their uniforms for evening gowns and cocktail dresses for the first, "Womanless Beauty Pageant" at the Sherrill Community Center.

It was a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

In the talent competition, they "sang" and danced for a panel of judges.

Our own Rex Thompson was one of the masters of ceremony for the event, which raised more than $600.
