LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Laurel police are on the hunt for a Queensburg man whose home they raided after two months of surveillance.

Investigators are looking for Derrick "Popcorn" Carter.  Police raided Carter's home on 11th South Avenue Tuesday morning after repeated calls from concerned residents about illegal drug activity. Police say they found pounds of marijuana and thousands of dollars in Carter's home.

Laurel Narcotics Investigator Michael Reeves said Carter is being charged with the intent to distribute. "The department is very grateful for the tips from neighbors," said Reeves. "We acted on those complaints and that information helps us tremendously to do our job."

Reeves said if you know the whereabouts of Derrick "Popcorn" Carter please call Laurel Police or the Jones County Crimestoppers.
