HATTIESBURG, MS. (WDAM) - A Hattiesburg woman is the lucky winner of the United Way's 2011 Home Sweet Home Give Away.

Ileana Carlson's name was selected as the winner Monday night at the raffle home. Carlson said, "Oh it's wonderful, it's great."

The house is located in the Bellegrass subdivision of Lamar County. The home is valued at 214-thousand dollars and proceeds from the raffle benefit the United Way of South East Mississippi's twenty one partner agencies.

After the live television drawing on WDAM, Carlson and her husband, Ken, drove to the house and took a look around. Mrs. Carlson is a Spanish teacher, while her husband runs a used car business.

"Well, we think the United Way is a real fine organization and they do a lot of good in the community and we like to buy the tickets just because of the United Way and the things that they do," said Ken Carlson.

The couple has not decided yet whether they are going to keep or sell the brand new home. The Carlson's have purchased raffle tickets for the home give away every year since the fundraiser began nine years ago.
