HATTIESBURG, MS. (WDAM) - This week the winners of an online charity auction will be among the first to eat a twelve course meal at the Hub City's newest restaurant named Tabella.

The Italian restaurant is the brainchild of local author and chef, Robert St. John, along with two of his partners.

To raise funds for the charity called 'Extra Table' folks can bid on Tabella's facebook page for the chance to win a twelve course meal plus wine for twelve people this Saturday night before the restaurant opens to the public.

'Extra Table' helps feed the hungry in this area by funding food boxes for organizations like the Edwards Street Fellowship Center.

According to St. John, "One hundred percent of those donations that are given to Extra Table through the Greater Pine Belt Community Foundation go directly into people's mouths. There are no administrative costs. Also one hundred percent of the winning bid off of facebook will go straight to paying for food."

No specific date has been set for the opening of Tabella, but the owners say it should be in the next seven to ten days.

As for the online facebook auction, you have until noon on Thursday to place your bid. All you have to do is "like" Tabella on facebook and name your price.
