Laurel residents needed permits to repair flood damage

LAUREL, MS (WDAM)- Due to the high level of flooding in the City of Laurel, residents are informed that, in compliance with the City's Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance, flood plain development permits will be required for repairs to damaged structures within the floodplain.

The City will record substantial damage estimates prior to the issuance of any permit.

Floodplain development permits are available at the City of Laurel Inspection Department. Failure to obtain necessary permits may result in fines.
