Remington's Hunt Club hearing postponed

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Friday's scheduled hearing on whether Remington's Hunt Club should be closed permanently has been postponed.

Attorneys for both the city of Hattiesburg and the Hunt Club have agreed to the postponement in order to give both sides time to prepare for the hearing.

Chancery Judge Johnny Williams set the Friday hearing after issuing a temporary restraining order shutting down the club.

The district attorney's office had requested the order citing dangerous, illegal, and violent activities on the premises of the club.  Attorney Wayne Hynum, who represents Remington's Hunt Club, had subpoened Police Chief Frazier Bolton and Mayor Johnny Dupree to testify, as well as police records and incident reports regarding other nightclub calls.

No date has been set for the hearing.
