PINE BELT, (WDAM) - This past weekend, much of the Pine Belt received 3+ inches of rainfall and it looks like we could see the same thing happen over the next couple of days. The Storm Prediction Center includes the Pine Belt under a "slight risk" for severe weather both Tuesday and Wednesday. All modes of severe weather will be possible, but with all the rainfall we picked up over the weekend, flash flooding will be my primary concern.
It's possible that scattered showers will develop in the morning hours Tuesday, but the best chance for rain will evolve throughout the day Tuesday, and into Wednesday. Rain should depart by Wednesday afternoon or evening but not until it leaves behind 1.5 to 2.5 inches of rain and possibly as much as 4-5 inches in some isolated areas.
The 7 on Your Side weather center will be monitoring this system closely. Please stay tuned for more details.
