AG Hood campaigning for 3rd term

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Mississippi Democrats are hoping to make gains in this year's statewide elections. Democratic incumbent attorney general Jim Hood is seeking office again and he expects voters to ignore party labels in November.

"People in Mississippi, it's a third Republican, a third Democrat and a third independent," said Hood. "People vote for who they like and if you'll recall in the last election, I was the only Democrat elected out of 8 statewide and I wound up getting more votes than the other 7 did...so, I think it goes to show that people will still vote for who they like, the policies and what they're accomplishing," Hood said.

Hood is seeking his 3rd term as attorney general.

Last week, he spoke to Forrest and Lamar County Democrats at a party fundraiser at Canebrake Country Club.
