HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Newly-elected 4th District Congressman Steven Palazzo says he and other conservatives in Washington are working hard to get government spending under control.
He says, however, he's not getting much help from Democrats.
"We're starting the process of working on the fiscal year 2012 budget," said Palazzo. "We're pushing things forward and, as you've seen, it looks like the Senate Democrats and the president, they have no plan to reduce the spending. They talk about it, but then his budget came out on Valentine's Day and it had another trillion-and-a-half in spending. It's just unsustainable," Palazzo said.
He spoke to the Area Development Partnership in Hattiesburg on Friday.
