CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) - Thousands of Army National Guard soldiers from the southwest will soon be headed to Hattiesburg for training at Camp Shelby. Some 3,200 troops from Oklahoma's 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team will undergo mobilization training at the post this spring in preparation for duty overseas.
Camp Shelby officials say the training should last through the end of June.
This month, the post will also welcome home various units that have been serving overseas.
Since 2004, Camp Shelby has trained nearly 120,000 soldiers for various deployments.
