WAYNESBORO, MS (WDAM) - United States House Republicans are proposing a 15 percent cut on head start programs across the country.
Employees and parents of Bryant-Turner Head Start in Waynesboro are furious about the idea.
Sharron Padgett, Assistant Director at Bryant Turner Head Start, said if 16 thousand classrooms close, America will be turning a blind eye on the future.
Padgett said, " I don't know what else could be more important that our money can go to than our children. They are our the future for tomorrow and if we don't invest in them, what else, you tell me, a car plant. "
