HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Enrollment at Presbyterian Christian School has increased quite a bit over the past few years, so much that they plan to build a new elementary school at a new location.

At Tuesday nights City Council meeting, council members approved building a new elementary school adjacent to the secondary campus on Bonhomie Rd.

Headmaster Dr. Allen Smithers said, the school has outgrown it's current location and the traffic congestion on Lincoln Rd. has become a safety issue for students.

The new school will be 58,000 sq. ft and will house 650 students. PCS officials, are accepting bids for the proposed $7 million project and they hope to break ground this Spring.
