Pickup crashes into Purvis home

PURVIS, MS (WDAM) - A Ford 150 pickup truck traveling on Mulberry Street crashed into the carport of a home in Purvis Tuesday afternoon.

The accident occurred at about 2:00. The unidentified driver apparently lost control of the vehicle, left the road and crashed into the home taking down two walls and causing considerable damage.

The driver of the pickup was transported to the hospital. The extent of the injuries is unknown.

No one was inside the home at the time of the crash.

Purvis, Southwest Lamar, and Pine Ridge fire personnel all responded to the scene.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
