Arrests made in Columbia for church burglary

COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) - Columbia police report that stolen items from a Columbia church have been recovered and arrests have been made.

The Columbia Police Department have arrested two individuals for the burglary of Calvary Baptist Church which occurred Feb. 9.

On Feb. 16 the Marion County Sheriff's department received a Crime Stoppers tip that the missing items from the church were located at 803 Beauvoir St.

Investigators with the sheriff's office conducted a check of the address and said several of the items were observed in plain view.

After a search warrant was obtained by Columbia Police for the address, police charged Kai Hollingsworth of Sumrall and Edward Burton of Picayune with the burglary of a commercial building.

Items stolen included: guitars, amplifiers, key boards, a TV, DVD players, and a projector.  The missing items were valued at approximately $10,000.00.
