HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The University of Southern Mississippi will hold a community forum focusing on economic security on Friday, March 4 from noon - 2 p.m. at The Trent Lott National Center for Excellence in Economic Development and Entrepreneurship.
The idea of the forums is to promote a national discussion on economic security with national, state and local suggestions, and gain insight from the public on ways the U.S. can move in a positive direction economically.
"We're pleased to host this event," said Dr. Chad Miller, assistant professor of economic development at Southern Miss and coordinator for the event. "It's an exciting opportunity to be part of a national discussion on the economic direction of the nation."
Organizers hope to help and encourage a conversation with Pine Belt residents on how they and other citizens across the state and nation can take control of their economic future.
The forum will allow participants to discuss economic opportunities and ways to strengthen communities and small businesses.
For more information on the forum and how to participate, contact Dr. Miller at 601-266-6666 or email email@example.com.
There will be other forums in Meridian and Quitman County. For more details visit the National Issues Forum website: www.nifi.org.
