Florists busy preparing for Valentine's Day

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - With Valentine's Day right around the corner, it's becoming a very busy time for folks in the flower business. Some local florists are bringing in extra help and working lots of extra hours to fill orders for roses and other types of flower arrangements and gifts.

Valentine's Day is on Monday and the folks at Bellevue Florist and Gifts in Hattiesburg say they expect to be busy through the holiday.

"We come early and stay late," said Thelma Lott, owner of Bellevue Florist and Gifts.

Lott said roses are by far, the most popular flowers for Valentine's Day, but she said tropicals and lillies are also favorites this time of year.
