Update: 10:20pm Wednesday - The bulk of the precipitation is moving out of Mississippi before the freezing temperatures get to the Pine Belt. It's possible some light precip will be left behind and as a result we may see some flurries or a dusting early Thursday morning. However, significant snow accumulation appears unlikely for the Pine Belt.
PINE BELT (WDAM) - As of Wednesday evening the majority of the Pine Belt is only reporting rain. Temps are currently in the mid 40s here, but they're closer to the freezing mark around Jackson and Meridian.
That cold air will continue to push our direction and I think some counties will start reporting sleet and/or snow a little before midnight. However, I would not look for any accumulation in the Pine Belt until the early morning hours Thursday. While not a guarantee... 3:00AM to 7:00AM, looks to be the Pine Belts best shot at seeing some accumulation. We should be below freezing during that time, so if enough moisture is left over we could get a trace to as much as 3/4 an inch of snow.
