State Treasurer Tate Reeves campaigns in Jones County

JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) -  State Treasurer Tate Reeves was in Jones County Wednesday  campaigning for Lieutenant Governor.

Reeves spoke to the Jones County Republican Women at Western Sizzin during their monthly luncheon.

Reeves said he is excited to be a Mississippian and believes he's the best man for the job.

Reeves said he is not concerned about former U.S. Senate Majority Leader Trent Lott's endorsement of is opponent State Senator Billy Hewes.

Reeves said "We are focused on the future not the past and I look forward to working hard to continue to work and serve Mississippians."

Reeves have served the state for the 8 years as State Treasurer.

    The Mississippi All-Stars wrapped up its third practice at Hattiesburg High school ahead of the 31st Mississippi/Alabama All-star game on Saturday at noon. Although Saturday’s contest at Southern Miss’ M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg is just an exhibition, the Mississippi players are taking it seriously.
