JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Mexican authorities have agreed to release an alleged Jones County serial rapist back to United States authorities.

Jones County Assistant District Attorney, J. Ronald Parrish, said he received an email on Wednesday evening from the U.S. Justice Department that the Mexican government has agreed to extradite Miguel Oros to Jones County.

Oros is accused of raping seven women between the ages of 59 and 87. The case involves the rapes of 5 Jones County women, a Lauderdale County woman, and another in New Iberia, Louisiana.

Most if not all the victims were elderly women living alone.

Parrish said he doesn't know exactly when Oros will be turned over to the U.S.
