HATTIESBURG, MS – University of Southern Mississippi students who would like to study in London this summer while also earning academic credit are invited to a British Studies interest meeting Thursday, Jan. 27 at 3:30 p.m. in the International Center, room 101.
Business students interested in the program are also invited to a presentation by international business consultant Andrew Wiltshire that day at 1 p.m. in Joseph Greene Hall, room 116.
The British Studies summer program is from June 30 – July 31 and includes six semester hours of classes, with three semester hours featuring lectures by noted British scholars, artists, business leaders and government officials, and field excursions and seminars led by American professors. The remaining three semester hours are supervised research. A wide range of classes in varying disciplines are offered.
At the interest meeting, students can meet the director, professors and former British Studies students to learn more about what to expect from the program and to sign up for the program online.
In his presentation, Wiltshire will talk about his extensive business career working with employees from nearly 40 countries. A question and answer session panel will follow Wiltshire's presentation, which will include Wiltshire and Southern Miss professors Dave Duhon and Skip Hughes discussing how British Studies can develop students and their career 'internationally."
