ELLISVILLE, MS (WDAM) - Reacting to citizens objections, The City of Ellisville and Cellular South have agreed to search for an alternate site for a proposed cellular tower.
Original plans called for the tower to be put up at the Ellisville Cemetery on Highway 29 just south of the city. Cell South is leasing the land from the city for $500 per month.
Folks with the Ellisville Cemetery Association brought their objections to the city, saying they didn't want the tower on any part of cemetery land.
Bending to the public outcry, city officials and Cellular South will look for an alternate site that will mutually benefit the city and Cellular South customers.
