JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi Supreme Court has agreed to hear an appeal from a Tippah County man convicted of manslaughter.
Chad Booker was found guilty in the death of David White, 61, after an altercation in 2007.
Booker was sentenced to 20 years in prison with 10 years suspended in 2008.
Last year, the state Court of Appeals upheld the conviction and sentence.
The Appeals Court rejected Booker's claims that the trial judge failed to let the jury hear his claim that he killed White in self defense.
