Hattiesburg High Campus Crime Stoppers wins award

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Hattiesburg High School Campus Crime Stoppers is now an award winning program.

During a ceremony presented by the Mississippi State Crime Stoppers Advisory Council, the Hattiesburg High Campus Crime Stoppers was presented with the Mississippi Crime Stoppers Special Implementation Award.

The high school board was honored for having the first high school crime stoppers program in the state. Treasurer of the Campus Crime Stoppers, Aaron Watson says this is a great achievement for Hattiesburg High.

"I believe this is a profound achievement on so many different levels. For us as students to try to better ourselves better our community, and this award shows children can make a difference in the community and also in the world," said Watson.

Hattiesburg High Campus Crime Stoppers will be teaching other school on the coast how to create their own crime stoppers program .
