NEW ORLEANS, LA (WDAM) - Sponsors and exhibitors are lining up to be part of the 2nd Annual National Sports Safety and Security Conference and Exhibition set for Aug. 2-4 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans.
Hosting the opening day's welcome reception from 5-7 p.m. in the exhibitor hall is NaviGate™ by Lauren Innovations who has signed on as the conference's platinum sponsor. NaviGate is a Web-based critical information system for safety and security purposes.
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has a gold sponsorship, while Security magazine will serve as the media sponsor. Sponsorships remain in both of those categories as well as the silver and bronze levels.
"Quite frankly, the response to last year's conference exceeded our expectations," said Dr. Lou Marciani, NCS4 director. "We have every reason to believe that this year's conference and exhibition will become another sellout as sports safety and security continues to draw attention from professionals not only in our country but across the globe."
Last year's inaugural conference included a sell-out among 43 vendors and over 300 attendees. NCS4 officials expect at least 400 attendees and have reserved space for as many as 56 exhibitors. Approximately one-third of the reserved spaces have already been taken by prospective exhibitors.
The conference is under the direction of the National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security (NCS4) at The University of Southern Mississippi.
The National Center for Spectator Sports Safety and Security was created to provide an interdisciplinary academic environment to further increase sport security awareness, improve sport security policies and procedures and improve emergency response.
