HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Whether the pastor of a Hattiesburg church will remain as pastor will be decided another day.

Reverend Gerry James of Friendship Baptist Church appeared in chancery court Tuesday morning after some congregation members filed an injunction to stop him from preaching.

Those members were dissatisfied with James' personal conduct, including arrests for DUI, marijuana possession and threatening a police officer.

James was even sentenced to two days in jail back in October. He's also accused of mismanagement of church finances.

While some church members want James out, others support him as pastor. A new court will be in sometime in March.
