An 18 wheeler pulling 86 head of cattle ran off I-59 around 2:00pm Monday afternoon, backing up traffic for hours. The driver of the tractor trailer says a car slammed on its brakes right in front of the truck full of cows, and he had no where else to go but off the northbound shoulder of the interstate.
The driver of the vehicle who apparently caused the accident did not stop.
Crews worked for more than three hours to right the truck and get it back on the road.
The cows did not appeared to be harmed in the accident and fortunately the tractor trailer driver escaped injury.
