SUMRALL, MS (WDAM) - A Sumrall businessman is set to run for State Representative.
Hank Lott, a Republican from Sumrall, says he will run for the 101st District for the Mississippi State House of Representatives.
Lot will make a formal announcement late Thursday at the Lion's Club in Sumrall.
Lott, 36, serves as the District 5 Representative for the Lamar County Economic Development District in addition to the Vice President for the Sumrall Development Foundation.
"My family and I have prayed about this decision; and, thus, are excited to make this announcement." He said. "We love Mississippi - especially Lamar County."
The 101st District covers most of Lamar County and includes Sumrall and West Hattiesburg. Primaries are scheduled for August 2011, with the general election set in November.
Hank Lott is the President and CEO of Magnolia Construction Supply, Inc. He is a lifelong Lamar County resident and currently resides in Sumrall with his wife Melinda Cooksey Lott. They have three children Lauren, Stone and Tucker.
