LAMAR COUNTY (WDAM) - Hundreds of students at Oak Grove High School were forced to evacuate Friday morning after a bomb threat was left on the school's answering phone.
School superintendent Dr. Ben Burnett says office personnel were checking overnight phone messages and heard the threat. The message was left at 10:30 Thursday night.
The buildings were immediately evacuated and law enforcement was called in. Instead of making the students stand outside in sub freezing temperatures, students were allowed to stay at Temple Baptist Church next door
Officials say a drug sniffing dog from the Highway Patrol is being brought in to help search the buildings. Teachers were allowed back in their classrooms to check for anything abnormal.
Students will remain inside the church until an all clear is announced.
