Pet of the Week 12-31-10

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The final Pets of the Week for 2010 from Southern Pines Animal Shelter are four adorable six week old miniature pincher mix breeds.

There are three males and one female. Their names are Buck, Bailey, Buddy, and Trixie.

They were brought to the shelter with their mother when they were only two weeks old. The mother has raised them at the shelter and they are now weaned and ready to go to a new home.

The cost for adoption is $75.00. They have already had their spay or neuter surgery. They have been wormed and have their first shots. They also have a micro chip installed for permanent identification.

"Southern Pines took in over 8000 unwanted puppies, kittens, dogs, and cats during 2010," said Valerie Rachal, Director of the Southern Pines Spay and Neuter Clinic. "That number of animals is way to many for the shelter to find homes for. We hope all of you will help us out by adopting and also getting your pets spayed or neutered."

The shelter is located on North 31st Street behind Atonellie College on Highway 49. Shelter hours are Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
