One of Laurel's oldest businesses burns to the ground

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The old Beards Feed Store in downtown Laurel on Maple Street burned to the ground Thursday night.

Laurel Fire Chief Greg King said electric power had to turned off to many homes in the neighborhood, and dozens of families were evacuated as a safety precaution.

King said the fire scene continue to smolder for several days to come.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

    The new Miss Hospitality has been crowned in Hattiesburg.  She is Emma Grace McGrew, 18, of Booneville.
