HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A temporary restraining order is now a permanent injunction, which means the city of Hattiesburg will not be able to suspended the operating license of Remington's Hunt Club.

A Forrest County chancery judge made the ruling Wednesday morning allowing the order to become permanent. Mayor Johnny DuPree, the defendant in the case, had tried to temporarily shut down Remington's Hunt Club after the shooting of three USM football players.

An attorney for the nightclub filed the restraining order, allowing it to stay open until a hearing could be held.

Meanwhile, Tuesday night the city council announced a public hearing for next Tuesday, December 14th at 6:30pm at the Jackie Doyle Sherrill Community Center in downtown to discuss city nightlife and the possibility of new ordinances.
