Marion County authorities find body in trailer fire

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)-  Marion County authorities are investigating a trailer fire where the body of female was found.

According to Marion County investigators, around 2 a.m. Thursday Marion County Deputies and the Foxworth Volunteer Fire Department responded to calls about a trailer fire on Hwy 35 south in Marion County.

As firefighters were fighting the blaze, they discovered a body in the trailer. The body of the female has not been identified. Marion County authorities are waiting on the identification of the body from the Mississippi Crime Lab.

Authorities are not sure how the fire started and are investigating along with the State Fire Marshall's office.

    The new Miss Hospitality has been crowned in Hattiesburg.  She is Emma Grace McGrew, 18, of Booneville.
