HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - For the past 24 years Christian Services of Hattiesburg has been bringing Thanksgiving to people in the community who otherwise might not have one.
Tuesday at the center on East 2nd Street more than 2000 people were treated to a traditional Thanksgiving meal of turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings.
Center Director Bill Prout says the event takes about three months of planning and preparation. The more than 250 volunteers who work to serve the meal are really the ones who make it happen.
"What's so exciting is in the Hattiesburg and Petal area is that people really want to be a part," said Prout. " They want to be able to give back to the community."
During the meal the crowd was entertained with spiritual music from Heart to Heart Music Ministries.
