HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The congregation at the east campus of Hattiesburg's Temple Baptist Church has voted on a name change.
Beginning around the new year, the church will become Hardy Street Baptist Church. The congregation decided in early 2010 to break away from the main body in Oak Grove and operate as a separate church.
The east campus, which has between 450-500 members, hopes to complete the transition process by January 2012 and become autonomous.
The new church does not have a senior pastor, but hopes to start soon on finding a transitional pastor that can lead it through the next year.
