Horse rescue organizations asks for donation

JONES COUNTY, MS (WAM) -  Last week the organization Mississippi Horses rescued 22 sickly animals from a property in Ellisville. Now they are looking for donations to help them keep those animals healthy.

The group asked Wednesday for someone to donate land with fenced in pastures and a barn for winter shelter.

The location needs to be in the Forrest, Lamar, or Jones County area and needs to be vacant without any other livestock. This is only temporary until the organization has a facility of its own.

Other things which can be donated are hay, emergency medication, large livestock trailers, and any veterinarian or ferrell service willing to donate or discount their services.

If you would like to know more ways you can donate or would like more information call 601-596-3239.

There are also two donation drop off points at the Watermelon Patch on Highway 49 in Hattiesburg and Highway 11 in Oak Grove.
