Courthouse named for retiring chancery judge

COLUMBIA, MS (WDAM) - The people of Marion County have honored retiring chancery judge Sebe Dale, Junior with a special surprise gift. The county has named the Chancery Court building in Columbia after him.

The 89-year-old longtime chancellor and Marion County native first learned of the honor this afternoon, during a reception at the courthouse. Judge Dale is retiring at the end of this year after 32 years on the bench.

Scott Phillips and Dawn Beam will face each other in a run-off election November 23rd to replace Judge Dale.
