The decorations are already up at Turtle Creek Mall as the holiday season quickly approaches. Slow economy or not, shoppers will shop, and this year, they might see a little extra in their wallets.
With the holidays right around the corner, shoppers at Turtle Creek Mall are starting to see sales before the biggest shopping day of the year. Some stores are offering deep discounts similar to Black Friday sales a week or two in advance of the big day. This is an effort to boost not only their revenue, but customer traffic as well. The mall's General Manager, Bryan LeBlanc, says retailers are preparing for a different kind of year for sales and discounts, and hopes holiday shoppers take note.
"Some of the retailers have started sales a little bit earlier than they have in years past. But you'll see a tremendous amount of discounts starting with Black Friday. Some of it will be the weekend before, but leading up until Christmas, you'll see a strong, and a lot of discounted value this year. This is the one quarter that everyone gets prepared just like they have in years past. You'll see a lot of great sales and a lot of great traffic and the retailers with do their best to meet everyone's needs. "
Despite a slow economy, LeBlanc says he still expects a successful holiday season in sales.
