HATTIESBURG,MS (WDAM) - High school seniors from all over the Pine Belt got a head start on college planning Wednesday.
William Carey University hosted the Pine Belt College Fair . Over 1,000 students from high schools and academies were able to meet with military and universities representatives from Mississippi, Louisiana and Alabama about admissions and scholarship opportunities.
Alissa King, Associate Director of Admissions, say some students were already planning to attend the universities that were present, which gave them a chance to complete their admission process.
"Finalize their paper work. Make sure that they have their scholarship information completed. They can talk with their scholarship representatives. They can also set up a time with their recruiter to visit campus and really finalize things. Housing applications are another really important thing that has been taken care of today," said King.
This is the third consecutive year for the pine belt college fair.
