HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Republican District 4 U.S. House candidate Steven Palazzo made several campaign stops in the Pine Belt Tuesday as voting was in progress.

Palazzo began the day in Laurel at the Hardee's on 16th Ave before stopping off at his headquarters in Laurel to meet with supporters.

In Hattiesburg, supporters worked the phone calling registered voters urging them to get out and vote.

Palazzo next stopped by his Hattiesburg campaign office at noon. While in Hattiesburg he visited Nukes Restaurant, Crescent City Grill, and the Regions Bank on South 40th to shake hands and talk with voters.

From there he moved on to Jackson and Hancock Counties for more meet and greets.

He will arrive at the Marriott Court Yard hotel when the polls close at 7:00 p.m. where a victory party is planned.

Palazzo faces incumbent Gene Taylor in the race for the seat and many sources are saying the vote is to close to call.
