Drug dealer round up in Marion County

Marion Co. (WDAM) - A weekend drug roundup in Marion county lands nine people behind bars. Sheriff Berkley Hall says the nine arrests were the result of an ongoing investigation into the use, sale, and the manufacturing of controlled substances.

Among those picked up was Corina Jones Williams charged with two counts of sale of a controlled substance with intent to distribute while in the possession of a firearm. Her bond was set at 135,000 dollars.

Also arrested were Willie Carter, Jr., Jennifer Peluso, Michael Stovall, Emily Johnson, and Emily Fuller...all charged with the sale of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a church or school. Their bonds were set at 60,000 dollars each. 

Also facing sale charges are Donovan Maples, Scott Scharrer, and Huba Blanden.

Sheriff Hall says more arrests are expected to be made.

    After losing the first two games of the season by a combined five points, Collins has won 12 consecutive games to advance to the class 2A South State title. The Tigers (12-2) defeated Bay Springs 22-8 on Friday to advance to a south state matchup against Taylorsville (13-1). Collins scored twice in the fourth quarter to overcome the Bulldogs on the road. "I feel great," said Collins head coach Eric Booth, a former USM running back.
