HATTIESBURG, MS. (WDAM) - This week, Seven on your Side is profiling Pine Belt charities to find out how their fund raising efforts are going in light of the bad economy.
On Monday we focused on the United Way of South East Mississippi and the Pink Ribbon Fund.
The United Way is currently in the middle of their annual campaign. Their goal is to raise one million, 600-thousand dollars for their twenty one partner agencies by Thanksgiving. Officials said fund raising is on par with last year.
The Pink Ribbon Fund raises money for Pine Belt breast cancer patients. They said so far the economy has not affected their donations due to dedicated volunteers and a cause the public is passionate about.
