Buildings at Southern Miss vandalized

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - USM Police are looking for 3 white men they believe may have vandalized 9 campus buildings in the early morning hours. Officials say the buildings were defaced with graffiti written in chalk and shoe polish, most of which said "impeach Saunders," a reference to USM president Martha Saunders.

Police chief Bob Hopkins says it happened between 2 and 5 o'clock this morning. The cleanup began almost immediately, but some graffiti was still visible at noon today.

Hopkins says depending on the damage, the vandals could face felony charges.
