WCU hosts candidate forum

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Hattiesburg-area voters heard from all 10 write-in candidates for chancery judge this afternoon. A forum at William Carey University offered candidates a few minutes to introduce themselves and talk about why they should be the next chancery judge for District 10, Post 1.

That seat became vacant when judge James H.C. Thomas, Junior died this month. State law requires a write-in election to fill that post next Tuesday.

Until his death, judge Thomas had been running for re-election unopposed.
