Laurel police investigate a drive-by-shooting

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Laurel Police are investigating a Tuesday night drive-by-shooting.

Police say, just before midnight someone fired several shots into a home on the 1100 block of Spriggs Street.

Investigators say one occupant was rushed to South Central Regional Medical Center after being hit from behind by a bullet.

Witnesses said they saw a silver Chevy Impala leaving the area with its lights off shortly after the shooting.

    Firefighters from about a half dozen different Marion County fire departments worked with personnel from the Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Parks Wednesday night to drain about 450,000 gallons of water from Lake Columbia.
