ELLISVILLE, MS. (WDAM) - Jones County Junior College students continued their fall flu awareness campaign Wednesday with an exercise in proper hand washing at the school's library.

To teach students how to kill germs by hand washing, members of the JCJC Health Center had students put on a glowing lotion made to resemble germ presence.

Afterwards, students washed the lotion from their hands and later put them under a light to highlight where some of the substance still remained.

A JCJC on campus honors society is working to help fellow students prevent the flu and practice proper hygiene through educational events like this one.

According to student April Jackson, "I learned I may need to wash my hands a little bit more. I thought I was doing enough, but apparently not."

On Monday, November first, Jones County Junior College will host an event to give students free flu vaccinations.
