HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Several outstanding South Mississippians were honored during an annual Lamar County GOP recognition dinner Tuesday night. Among those being honored were retiring chancery judge Sebe Dale, Jr. And the late chancery judge James H.C. Thomas, Jr.
Featured speaker was state treasurer Tate Reeves, who hopes Republicans will make gains in the House and Senate in next week's elections.
"As I travel around the state and I as travel around South Mississippi, people are very concerned about the direction the country is going in," said Reeves. "They're very concerned about the direction that Nancy Pelosi is taking us and they're very concerned about the direction that Barack Obama is taking us."
