Joe Tegerdine endorses Gene Taylor

(WDAM) - Steven Palazzo's Republican opponent in the party primaries in June endorsed Democrat Gene Taylor today. Joe Tegerdine of Petal issued the endorsement through his website.

Tegerdine got 43% of the vote in his battle with Palazzo in the party primary.

In deciding to endorse Taylor, Tegerdine said during Taylor's 2 decades in Washington , he has not enriched himself at the expense of taxpayers, nor has he been mired in scandals so prevalent among elected officials.

Tegerdine closed out his endorsement by saying quote, "I am confident Nancy Pelosi will not return as speaker of the House regardless of who wins the district and I do not want to put our fourth district seat in the hands of a Republican puppet and puppeteers that I do not trust."

We caught up with Steven Palazzo at Tuesday night's Lamar County GOP Recognition Dinner, but he had no comment on the Tegerdine endorsement.

"He had skills that not everybody possesses," said former Wayne County head baseball coach Michael Gavin. "And the biggest thing was his work ethic. I never had a kid that would work as hard as he do." Gavin saw the potential in Dylan Snypes back when he donned a War Eagle uniform.
